Completed fic: Into the World of Monsters
Title: Into the World of Monsters (70/70)
Rating: T
Characters/Pairings: Lots of early anime characters including the regulars, gym leaders, other Team Rocket members, and more. Mostly friendship as far as relationships go.
Genre: Drama, Action, Fan-reboot, overall re-imagining of Pokemon.
Summary: Monsters only discovered a century ago seem totally normal to the current generation in Kanto, including Ash, who wants to get his badges and compete in the league. Complications from Team Rocket arise. The world including the people and pokemon in it turn out to be extraordinarily complicated, and the right direction isn't always obvious.

An anime rewrite of sorts starting and ending in Kanto that may be better described as a re-imagining the world of Pokemon in general. Team Rocket's actions are more or less the main conflict instead of them being a background thing. I love the anime cast and this is overall character-centric at the core, focusing on multiple characters instead of just Ash being the main. Focal character(s) vary by chapter. Early it more changes up the story of the original anime while giving space to multiple characters. There are very obvious differences and hints the world itself isn't like canon, but the basic plot of early chapters can be similar to specific episodes. Reading on, see how things develop drastically differently. Characters age and there is an actual ending with conclusions for everyone.
